Blake graduated from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in Exercise Science in 2006. He continued his education at the University of Iowa earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2008. He has worked as a physical therapist treating patients in Cedar Rapids since graduating in 2008. Blake has worked to advance his skill set and received further education in manual therapy through St. Augustine University, Institute of Physical Art, functional movement systems and many others to provide high level treatment to all his patients. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and continues his involvement with athletes through strength and conditioning, physical therapy, and personalized performance training.

Blake played football in college and has continued to use his experiences as an athlete to coach, train, and rehab players at all levels of experience, from grade school through professional athletes. He recognizes fundamental differences and challenges posed at each level athletes may encounter and how to work through those to meet personal goals.

Blake enjoys treating patients of all skill sets and ages. He utilizes manual therapy techniques such as dry needling, functional, joint, and soft tissue mobilization to reach best possible outcomes for each individual patient. He appreciates and even enjoys the unique challenges each and every patient brings, and he works using an encompassing approach to meet and exceed your individual goals.

Blake enjoys ongoing learning in his profession as a physical therapist and as an adult learner in general. He loves spending time with his wife, Emily and their four kids Banks, Abram, Christian, and Everly. A patient once told him “time spent with your family is never wasted time,” and so he spends as much time as he can with them. They enjoy gardening, all sports activities, and most outdoor activities. He would greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you through the great profession of physical therapy!
